Q: Will Mike Sanor be at the camp?
A: Yes, Mike oversees and/or conducts all instruction and demonstration.
Q: Should I send money with my child?
A: There are no vending machines for food services available for the evening clinics, Gatorade and water are provided to all players to help avoid any dehydration while working on our games in the Idaho sun.
Q: What should I bring?
A: Campers should bring (wear) the following to each session: basketball shoes, good socks, tee-shirt or tank top, shorts, (Note: Do not bring watches, radios, etc.All valuables should be left at home.) The Rise Up Basketball Clinic will not be responsible for lost personal items.
Q: I cannot get my child to camp on the first day, can he/she still attend?
A: Yes, we try to maintain a productive ratio of players to coaches, to ensure that each player gets ample focus on their game and areas to work on. We cannot offer a discount on the fee, but, if a player misses the first session, they should be able to still have a valuable camp experience.
Q. Will my child be safe at The Rise Up Clinics?
A. Absolutely! Your child's safety is our first priority. Staff and coaches are focused primarily on the campers experience. The buddy system is used when going to the restroom. All staff have been thoroughly trained to avoid compromising situations with campers. When talking with campers about personal issues, we always have two staff member the a camp director or parent present. Rough or unsafe play will not be tolerated and are grounds for dismissal. We have never had a child seriously hurt in our 5 years, a record we are very proud of.
Q: Are the Photo Release and Health Forms required?
Yes, both of these forms are required for participation in camp. The forms must be filled out in their entirety with the proper signatures.
Q: Do you have any scholarships or ways to defer the cost?
A: Yes, we do give scholarships, but as you can image, we also get many requests from parents.
Two types of financial help are available:
1. The Vineyard Christian Fellowship Scholarships Fund. (Please contact us to discuss availability and qualifications)
2. A work program: for youth 14 and above who work as student coaches to defer the cost.
3. If you know of a business or program that would want to help us defer the fees to a particular church group, refugee group or other worthy program. Please contact our head of donations.
