The Rise Up Sports! Summer Basketball Youth Camp Is geared up for our 5th year serving the youth of Idaho's Treasure Valley! The clinic's mission is to develop fundamental basketball skills and enhance personal development. Participants learn ball handling, triple threat, post moves, rebounding, court spacing, passing, defensive keys, team offense and defense along with life lessons to help them maintain a strong work ethic. Mike Sanor, a product of the Treasure Valley and Former Boise State University Basketball player and Award Winner, executes each sessions schedules and activities.
The camp consists of guidance in basketball stations, games, basketball contests, and an award’s ceremony. Participants will receive camp T-shirts, participation certificate, and photo opportunities. Campers interact with a variety of athletes, community leaders, top AAU players, as well as college and high school players and coaches.
Mike Sanor assists in or conducts all instructions and demonstrations. The camp teaches fundamental basketball skills, sportsmanship and team concepts. The Rise Up Basketball Clinic emphasizes the importance of maintaining a positive attitude, staying in school, and saying no to drugs and alcohol. These core values help translate and enhance a sense of self-confidence.
Basic drills are the same for all skill levels. Players with more ability are given higher-level drills and ball handling moves. The camp is great preparation for the next level of competition and upcoming school year. To enhance this positive learning experience, the ratio of coaches to campers is kept to a functional percentage.
The Rise Up Sports! Basketball Clinic mission is to help youth learn the productive mechanisms of team sports, teamwork, discipline, cooperation, setting goals, strong work ethics and establishing moral values. The Rise Up Sports! Basketball clinic helps teach these concepts. The mission of Rise Up Sports! has not changed since it's beginnings.
